Cryptocurrencies accepted

KuCoin: 370+ different cryptocurrencies accepted, such as BTC, ETH, DOGE, and a multitude of others.

KuCoin vs Crypto.com Fees

KuCoin offers super low trading fees at a base rate of .1%. Even better, you can get a 20% discount on your trading fees if you use their native token, KCS, to pay your fees.

Crypto.com’s trading fees are low, but they can seem expensive compared to KuCoin’s. Their trading fees sit at .4% and can go all the way up to 2.99% if you are using a debit or credit card to make your purchase. It is possible to reduce these fees by staking their native coin. However, many users have noted that trading fee discounts on Crypto.com are tricky to understand.

🏆 Winner: KuCoin

KuCoin is far superior to Crypto.com in its fee structure. You’ll be hard-pressed to find any exchange that can offer the same low rates as KuCoin.

Deposit Methods

KuCoin made depositing much easier with their recent release of the KuCoin Fiat Account. Now, you can deposit and convert more than 50 different fiat currencies with no fees involved. They also allow users to make instant purchases via Papal, debit card, credit card, and Apple Pay.

Crypto.com has a couple of different deposit methods but not quite as many as KuCoin. When funding your account on Crypto.com, you can do so through PaPal, Crypto.com Pay, credit card, debit card, and bank transfers.

🏆 Winner: KuCoin

KuCoin has plenty of deposit options, and the addition of the KuCoin Fiat Account makes the process quick and easy.

Staking on KuCoin vs Crypto.com

If you aren’t sure what staking is, staking lets you earn interest on your cryptocurrency assets by locking them in for a period of time. It can get more complicated than that, with different exchanges offering a range of benefits for staking their native coins.

KuCoin is an innovator when it comes to staking. In 2019, they introduced Soft Staking. Soft Staking lets you receive staking rewards without ever locking up your funds.

Crypto.com lets you stake a variety of coins on its exchange, but it primarily incentives its users to stake its native coin, CRO. When you stake CRO, you’ll be rewarded with lower trading fees, higher staking interest rates, and credit card rewards. The only problem is that many think Crypto.com pushes their users to stake CRO too heavily, making the exchange sub-par if you don’t invest in its native coin. Crypto.com pushes for their users to stake CRO too heavily, making the exchange sub-par if you don’t participate in staking its native coin.

🏆 Winner: KuCoin

KuCoin wins this category as they let their users stake tons of different coins without making them lock up their funds through Soft Staking

Notable Features

Kucoin is such a popular exchange because they offer a huge selection of coins to choose from, with 370+ different digital assets. KuCoin also comes with a Trading Bot. You can adjust the rules and parameters of your Trading Bot and have it execute trades for you automatically, letting you make money on the crypto market in your sleep or while at work.

Crypto.com is one of the few exchanges that doesn’t have a desktop or web app. Instead, Crypto.com relies solely on its Android and iOS apps. Since they have optimized their mobile app exchange, it comes with a very sleek and easy-to-use design. The only problem is that it cannot offer the same amount of information to experienced traders that other desktop apps provide. Crypto.com’s most notable feature is all the rewards its users get for staking CRO, such as lower trading fees.

🏆 Winner: KuCoin

KuCoin’s wide selection of digital assets and Trading Bot feature make the exchange super unique.

Security Features

KuCoin has always prided itself on bank-level asset security, which they have gained through a multitude of security measures that their users can opt into. These security measures include micro withdrawal wallets and dynamic multi-factor authentication.

Crypto.com has the basic security features you would expect from an exchange, such as two-factor authentication and the prioritization of cold storage. However, Crypto.com is unique in that they offer insurance on your digital assets in the rare case hackers steal them. Crypto.com partnered with U.S. banks to provide $250,000 in FDIC insurance. The drawback to Crypto.com’s insurance model is that it can only apply to U.S. deposits.

🏆 Winner: Crypto.com

Crypto.com possesses many of the same security features offered by KuCoin, plus they have a unique insurance option for their users.

Regulation Compliance

KuCoin is a trusted and reliable exchange that abides by all necessary regulations. As with all other legitimate exchanges, they abide by the standard Know Your Customer (KYC) protocols. But, they have doubled down on their security and regulation compliance through Know Your Transaction (KYT). KYT tracks all illicit activity occurring on KuCoin’s exchange.

Crypto.com is based in Hong Kong but is truly an exchange meant for worldwide use. They are the first digital asset exchange to obtain a Class 3 Virtual Asset license from the Malta Financial Authority. Crypto.com has always kept regulation compliance at the forefront of their business model. That’s because they view regulation compliance as key to accelerating the world’s transition to crypto and away from fiat currency.

🏆 Winner: Crypto.com

Crypto.com is the clear winner when it comes to regulation compliance because they have made it their goal to be the best at adapting to the rules of financial systems around the world.

Customer Service

KuCoin’s customer service comes up lacking as they don’t offer live chat support. If you need help, you’ll have to email their support team and wait for a response.

Crypto.com doesn’t do very well in the customer service area either. When you look at Crypto.com reviews, they do pretty poorly with customer satisfaction due to their abysmal customer service. Their support team is known to be slow to respond and provide little to no help.

🏆 Winner: KuCoin

KuCoin wins this category but not by any wide margin.

Mobile functionality/mobile app

KuCoin is one of the few exchanges that delivers a great desktop app as well as a great mobile app. Their iOS and Android mobile apps let users access some of KuCoin’s most notable features on the go. KuCoin’s app has a stellar 4.5-star rating on the Google Play store with over 13,000 reviews.

Crypto.com has one of the best mobile apps of all crypto exchanges in terms of design quality. However, some users complain that aesthetically appealing charts look nice but lack advanced data for experienced crypto investors. Also, Crypto.com is strange as it does not provide a web or desktop app alternative for their users. In the App Store, Crypto.com has a 4.3-star rating with over 67,000 reviews.

🏆 Winner: KuCoin

KuCoin’s app both looks good and comes with many of the exchange’s key features.
